02 The Tale of the Lifeless Morning - An account by a Flipkart agent

This is a piece of fiction, nothing else..
ENJOY!

In search of one Harshad Dahake, I turned once more to the right, this time to enter Saraswati Lane. "Finally!", I thought, looking at my watch again. 10:30 in the morning. "Why did you have to come today?" I demanded angrily (for at least a hundredth time) of the 'urgent' parcel, which was sitting on my lap now. That god-forsaken parcel had arrived just this morning. A call from the office had announced, for my unseeking ears to hear and my unwilling brain to accept, that I was responsible for its delivery.

What I was about to witness next was something I had never seen before. Everything at Saraswati Lane was so still and lifeless, I could literally hear myself breathe. And so were the insides of 130, Saraswati Lane, II-Town (that was the address on the parcel), just like all the other houses in the neighborhood. Not that I could get in. If one happened to pass by, they would wonder if anybody actually lived there. Such was the strange silence around 130, Saraswati Lane, II-Town that morning. What happened? Where were everyone? It was hard to imagine the answer. But it was as much as I could do. I confess I was a bit dizzy. But that wasn't the answer. No.

I was about to knock on the door, when it happened.

Ring....Ring...Ring !!

A sudden noise coming out of 1-2-7, none too soft for me to not be able to hear from where I was standing, brought me back to my senses. It was just an alarm. Surely, someone would respond now, I hoped; in vain.

Ring....Ring...Ring...
Ring....Ring...Ring... ~ ~

No movement. Nothing.
The alarm bell stopped after some time. But that was all. Still no activity. Still no soul visible, at least to the naked eye. "What am I thinking now", I bemused. "I think I am still sleepy! Got to hit the bed as soon as I reach home. Aah, only if it weren't for this stupid 'urgent' parcel, I would still be in my bed. A man can't catch a break! Even on a Sund... " And then, I realized what had happened. It was a SUNDAY!! And all the residents of Saraswati Lane were sound asleep. Because it was SUNDAY!

After some time Mr. Harshad finally opened his door, to my relief. I was elated to see his frowning face, one of a man who seemed to have been disturbed out of his meditation. Slowly, wearily, he took the package from my hand, fumbled with his pen to write his signatures and then gave me one last look of total annoyance before shutting his door close again. I knew what he was about to do now. He was about to sleep again.
"And so will I, Mr. Harshad. So will I." I thought, as a wry smile crept across my tired face.

A Last Goodbye

A feeling for all the lovely people around me today For all my friends, family and those who may For everyone who has touched my heart, my head Remember this little thing I once said.   I remember the times we spent together I know we enjoyed them, no ifs no whethers But I don't remember when we said those words A last goodbye I never heard. I remember the times we fought each other I remember the times we were like brothers But if you gave it to me, I would have never forgot A last goodbye I never got. I remember the times we were just silent The silence in itself, a revealing asylum But even the silence did not make me ready for it A last goodbye we never did. I remember the times we said 'forever yo' I remember how we said we would never grow No one can understand the paths we paved But a last goodbye I always craved. I remember the times you were there for me I remember the things I did for thee A credit account with an overdose With a last goodbye never clo...

06 When I started pouring out my mind

S itting at my desk, wondering why I had not written for such a long time, I decided to just pour out my mind for once . And then, there were six ..       Pouring out my mind? I had heard about pouring out hearts.. What is 'pouring minds'? Pouring is 'flowing in a steady way'. Steady!!? hah! My mind and steady, now that's a good one there. Nobel prize for whoever can pull that off! And for that matter, how can one then pour out one's heart? Can you? Pour it. I would like to see.      What are emotions? You think you know? Simple?... Le wiki mama describes emotions as, (and this is only their first line) ''In psychology and philosophy, emotion is a subjective, conscious experience characterized primarily by psycho-physiological expressions, biological reactions, and mental states .'' So much for being 'simple'!! And that is how we describe the things closest to us, emotions.     Man has m...
